You will board your seaplane from the convenience of the Hobart docks and motor gently out into the River Derwent to begin the Hobart city scenic seaplane tour. During this water taxi your pilot will point out items of historical interest which you will hear with ease through your own headphones. Taking off from the River Derwent runway, it is hard not be awed as beautiful Hobart unveils itself beneath you and majestic Mount Wellington sits as your backdrop. Your pilot will manoeuvre the aircraft so that all on board have great views and you won't miss a thing. Cruising at a height to give you optimum views of the local area and more distant scenery, don't forget to have your camera ready. You will be treated to wonderful views of the Tasman Bridge, Government House, Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens and the intriguing architecture of MONA - Museum of Old and New Art. Continuing towards the mouth of the River Derwent you will enjoy the historic precinct of Salamanca Place and Battery Point before passing Australia's first legal casino, Wrest Point. Northern Bruny Island will shortly come into view, and the magnificent waters of the D'entrecasteaux Channel, a favourite sailing passage for the local boating community. If you are lucky you may spot a pod of bottle-nosed dolphins or seals, maybe even a migrating whale! Further away lies Storm Bay, the Tasman Peninsula and beyond the expanse of the Southern Ocean. After passing the South Arm Peninsula and Opossum Bay, you return for another view of Hobart city centre and waterfront before you slowly descend gracefully from the skies of Hobart and experience the thrill of landing on water.
